A committee selects celebrities eligible for a star and those who accept pay $30,000 in costs and fees.       Other entertainers slated for a star next year are Javier Bardem, , Simon Baker, Bryan Cranston, Jane Lynch, Katey Segal, Matthew Perry, Ellen DeGeneres and Olympia Dukakis; performers Penn & Teller; makeup artist Rick Baker; filmmaker Ron Howard; radio personalities Steve Harvey and "Shotgun" Tom Kelly; and musicians Jane's Addiction, thanlia . Janis Joplin and Luther Vandross will also get posthumous stars.

                                            Justin Bieber receives a proclamation declaring June 19,2012 “Justin Bieber Day        Teen pop-sensation Justin Bieber has been honoured with a special day called the Justin Bieber Appreciation Day.  The 18-year-old attended a record signing tuesday at an electronics store in Manhattan where he was visited by the Manhattan Borough President Scott M Stringer.   The borough official handed the pop star a framed certificate to mark the special day.                               Manhattan Borough President Scott M Stringer presents certificate to justin bieber       “ This proclamation is on behalf of the 1.6 million people who live in Manhattan, and it’s very exciting to have Bieber here with us. The newly weds -Kolo Toure and chimene Akassou    Manchester City and Ivory coast 's central defender Kolo Habib Toure got married to his long-time fiancee chimene Akassou  last week in  Abidjan, in a ceremony that attracted distinguished personalities from the world of politics and sports.         The wedding ceremony  took place at a mosque  and the couple later signed their marriage documents at a registry.     A grand reception was held during the weekend,with most of the Ivory Coast national team players in attendance.    Kolo’s younger brother , club mate  and African Footballer of the Year Yaya Toure was the best man.  Kolo and chimene have been living together in England since 2003 . They have two children, daughter   Sania and son Yiassin together.
