     Popular Yoruba movie actress/Producer , Laide bakare  survived a car accident that could have claimed her life last weekend.     PM news reports that  the accident occured in Ifo police station,ogun state while she was driving  her newly acquired Range Rover with customised number LBO which stands for Laide bakare Okunfulure.    Bakare was speeding when a nissan saloor car ,driving out of the the police station rammed into her vehicle which led to collision.    Although the driver of the Nissan admitted to being at fault, both automobiles were detained at the Ifo Police Station.    A witness  said “ Laide really has her God to thank because she did not even sustain any injury. I have seen an accident of this nature claim lives before, but I think God is on her side.” it was the ‘star’ status of the actress that made the jittery Nissan driver admit being at fault. “He could have claimed otherwise, but I guess it was due to the respect he has for her. Meryl streep      The 84th Academy Awards took place last night . Meryl Streep  joined a very exclusive club on Sunday, winning her third acting Oscar for her role as a strident  Margaret Thatcher  in "The Iron Lady."     Former President Nelson Mandela has been discharged from hospital following his admission yesterday , Saturday 25 February.     The doctors have decided to send him home as the diagnostic procedure he underwent did not indicate anything seriously wrong with him. The 93-year-old anti-apartheid crusader underwent a laparoscopy to help determine the cause of the stomach issue that sent him to the hospital on Saturday ,spokesman Mac Maharaj told The Associated Press.    Mandela "is surrounded by his family and is relaxed and comfortable. The doctors are happy with the progress he is making," South African President Jacob Zuma said in a statement.  President Zuma thanks the public for the good wishes and support .
