Eighty-six new cases of #COVID19 have been reported; 70 in Lagos 7 in FCT 3 in Katsina 3 in Akwa Ibom 1 in Jigawa 1 in Bauchi 1 in Borno As at 11:50 pm 19th April there are 627 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. Discharged: 170 Deaths: 21

Faaji agba collective honour Highlife maestro late alaba pedro


       The Faaji Agba Collective will perform at the burial of veteran Highlife musician, Alaba Pedro, on Saturday, August 6.

   Pedro died on Tuesday, July 26 while returning from a playing tour of the United States with other members of the group.
Other members of the 10-man collective that performed at the Brooklyn Festival in New York are Fatai Rolling Dollar, Shina Ayinde Bakare, S.F Olowookere, Samson Adegbite, Taiye Ayanwale, Nureni Sunmola, Kunle Adeniran and Niyi Ajileye.
     A Christian wake will precede the deceased's burial at his No 6, Rafat Street, Olayemi Estate, Ikorodu home on Friday, August 5 while the interment will hold the following day at the same venue.
      There will be a lying in state on Saturday morning while the Faaji Agba Collective will entertain guests later in the day after Pedro's interment.
     Aged 72, Pedro was a master guitarist and singer who played with the late Roy Chicago and Eddie Okonta amongst others.
